Canadian architecture firm KPMB Architects hosted a launch event for CriticalProductive Journal at their office in Toronto. The launch centered around the publication of CriticalProductive Journal Issue No.01: Sovereignty / Populism, with Bruce Kuwabara, founding partner of KPMB Architects, moderating a conversation with Milton S. F. Curry, founding editor of CriticalProductive, and Shawn Rickenbacker, CriticalProductive Editorial Collective member and Associate Professor of Architecture and Director of the J. Max Bond Center for Urban Futures, City College of New York’s Spitzer School of Architecture. Also in attendance were Grace Teresa Cillo, managing editor for CriticalProductive, along with KPMB staff and guests from art, design, architecture, and culture communities. The group discussed sourcing and utilizing data in design, the evolution of the public realm in cities, and the concept of democratic space.
